


















Somer Harrold received her BFA in Painting from the Pacific Northwest College if Art in Portland, Oregon in 2000. Her undergraduate education also includes the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland, the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada.
Harrold is a mixed-media artist whose work combines painting, photography and collage. Her work is heavily influenced by place, incorporating elements of language, culture and available materials. Her figurative work explore the ideas of history and memory; juxtaposing the personal, the political and the collective. Other bodies of work include portrait photography, abstract close-ups of blown glass, and mixed media paintings for children.
She currently lives and works in Carmel Valley, California.
